A Prayer
Jesus, pour out Your Spirit upon us
Anoint us to bring good news to the poor
To bind up the broken-hearted
To proclaim freedom to the captives
To proclaim the year of Your grace
To rebuild the old ruins
To raise a new city out of the rubble
Through Your love, make all things new.

Vision
New City is a community of young adults seeking to live out the beauty, truth, and justice of Jesus Christ through worship and mission that transforms lives. New City is a ministry of Central United Methodist Church to UMKC, Rockhurst, the Kansas City Art Institute, and The Plaza area of Kansas City.

Mission
The focus of New City is to create worship experiences that transform lives and mission that transforms the city. Our strategy is to gather a new worshipping community on Sunday nights that will be specifically shaped for young adults, but open to anyone who longs to see God redeem this world we live in. Our dream is to hold our passion for worship and mission together in a creative tension that blurs the lines of individual faith and social justice. Through Word and deed, we seek to live into the vision of the new city of God found in Isaiah 61 and Revelation 21.
